Mother Dairy is looking to set up a new plant in Maharashtra with an investment of about Rs 500 crore, as it intends to grow its manufacturing footprint. The company is in advanced stage of land procurement to set up a new plant in Nagpur, Maharashtra
This plant will manufacture dairy and value-added dairy products, and is planned to become a hub to serve western and southern regions of the country. This is part of the company's broader investment plan of about Rs 700 crore over the next few years, for which the company's Board has given its nod
The company has already achieved ramp up of manufacturing capacity last year in the dairy and value-added dairy products segment, and the new plant is expected to further increase the company’s capacity by 15-20 percent. Further, in the food processing segment, it is considering a new plant set-up in Karnataka
The company has a strong pipeline of innovations across categories such as bakery, ice creams, with plans to launch 100 new products over the next three years. Mother Dairy is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB)
